Delivery and Pick Up Updates:
Boulder Savory Spice Shop is closed until further notice as of 3/18.
Choose Boulder Fermentation Supply pick up or Home Delivery for Boulder.
Boulder Fermentation Supply continues to be open as of 5/8.
...and is limiting the number of customers in the shop to five at once. They are an essential business and will be staying open until further notice.
We are extending our pick up hours there as much as possible to spread out your arrivals. Pick up will now begin at 1:30pm on Wednesdays.
Our Broomfield Kitchen is open for pick up. We are an essential business. We are offering Curbside pick up for low contact.
Please choose the Broomfield Back to Basics Kitchen CURBSIDE option as your pick up site while checking out.
We will continue Broomfield pick up with masks + physical distancing until further notice. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
We have reduced our kitchen store open hours to Wednesday and Thursday during pick up hours to limit people in the kitchen, especially while we are cooking.
Starting 5/6 we will have menu lists available as you will not be able to enter the kitchen to look at the food. For most detail, check our menu online before you come in.
And we have home delivery options plus a new Broomfield home delivery option.
**We are temporarily not requiring coolers as so many people are home. We will leave the food at the front door and text when it has been delivered.
As of 4/27 we are wearing masks for cooking days in addition to customer contact days, in accordance with the governor's request, though we have limited employees in a large space, and the current evidence shows transmission through food is unlikely.
From the CDC, updated 4/28:
"Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread from person to person through respiratory droplets. Currently, there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with food."
"Before preparing or eating food it is important to always wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds for general food safety. Throughout the day use a tissue to cover your coughing or sneezing, and wash your hands after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing, or going to the bathroom."
"In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from food products or packaging."
We will also be wearing masks for pick up as of 4/4. Our contact at the store is limited to four employees, and just me (Susanna, the owner) for pick up.
And we appreciate not being exposed any more than necessary, either. We want to keep healthy and keep cooking :)
Because the virus is killed by heat and has not been show, so far, to transmit effectively through packaging, especially with washing your hands, our meals are still are great way to reduce exposure going to the grocery store.

I (Susanna, the owner) am a Certified ServSafe Food Manager (that was tens of hours of online video training learning about preventing all kinds of scary illness scenarios!). And our very small team of three will be taking all our normal food safety precautions with extra vigilance.
Coronavirus is killed by heat, so if you wish you may even rinse our meal jars off and wash your hands, then heat the food for extra precaution.
